The Adventure of the Classics.
This was the motif suggested by the Princess of Asturias Foundation,to get the students closer to the Classic Culture and the personality of Mary Beard, awarded with the Social Science 2016 Award.
The first “adventure” was about deciphering two encrypted messages using two techniques of the classic world: Caesar cipher and Scytale. Using the mysterious message they became reporters in the classic world and discovered how from the Antiquity similar situations are repeated.
Using the words of Mary Bear: “History teaches us about ourselves, challenging our cultural certainties and opening our eyes to different perspectives”.
