The students from 5A have been working on the IPC project ‘Climate Change’ . Fossil fuels have been investigated and the need to use more renewable fuels discussed. They have seen the terrible consequences that the changing climate is having on our planet , in the form of hurricanes, floods and the drying up of lakes.
They even invented stories to tell to the boys and girls of Year 1B, to try and help them understand why and how our climate is changing.
However, the highlight of the project was the visit from Luis , Miguel’s dad. Luis helped the children to understand how coal was formed, where it is found and how it is extracted. Lots of questions were asked and the children were able to understand more clearly just what life is ,and was like ,in the mine. Thanks Luis !
