The First House Singing Competition took place last Friday to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of Palacio de Granda. Each House had to prepare a song of the seventies, when the School was founded, and sing it in the anniversary morning.
The audience highlighted the imagination, talent and effort of all the participants. We had an excepcional jury presided by our Principal, Anne Stevens, who was accompanied by Piers Frazier, Head of Marketing at ISP and Graeme Delaney, Drama Teacher.
The first was the Blue House, with the song We will rock you, by Queen, with a fantastic performance based on percussion and choreography.
Then it was time for the Yellow House. Their version of My Sharona, Grita y Salta, had a spectacular dance number that everyone applauded enthusiastically.
The third one was the Green House, they sang a mix of Spanish songs of the seventies, filling the stage with green passion.
And the last was the Red House, they transported us to Rydell High with a Megamix of Grease Soundtrack, recreating some of the most famous scenes of the film.
The jury didn’t have us waiting and soon went on stage along with the House Heads. They praised all the Houses and highlighted the most important aspects of each of them.
In third position there was a draw between the Blue and the Yellow House, the Red House was classified in second place just one point away from the winner: the Yellow House, who celebrated it joyfully.
