Scissors, cardboards, felt-tip pens and lots of imagination! These are just some of the posters the students of the 4th year of ESO have prepared throughout the academic year.
A project about a movie, an oral presentation or, simply, a writing exercise; any pretext is valid for the group of 4º to let their imagination and creativity flow and design and make these attractive and, at the same time, educational little artworks. Obviously, the objective is not to reinforce their artistic skills, but to improve their English in a dynamic, autonomous and pleasant way.
Their works are always based on a task they are presented in advance but it is their responsibility to choose the format they want to follow, look for the information they want to include and plan how to do it in the most successful way.
Students always work in teams and struggle to get the highest mark in their projects. The final step is to present their ideas and works to the rest of the class. In that way, they learn how to synthesize and organize ideas, work out their reading and writing skills and, as they are working shoulder to shoulder with other team members, practice their oral production, too. Their results could difficultly be improved… they are real artists!
